Who we share information with

We share personal information only when it is needed to handle your request, run our business or meet a legal duty. We never sell it, and we never share it with third parties for their own marketing.

  • Our own offices and facilities: our headquarters in Hangzhou, our U.S. sales office in Jersey City, our regional contacts (for example, Latin America) and the manufacturing facilities that produce your order.
  • Service providers working for us: web hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare), email and productivity tools, website analytics (Google), form and spam protection, customer-relationship and quotation software, and the freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers who move your order.
  • Authorised distributors and partners: when your enquiry is best handled by a local distributor or partner, we pass on only the details needed for that enquiry.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, banks, regulators, customs and export-control authorities, and courts, where the law requires or allows it.
  • Business transfers: if Velkor is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction under the same protections described here.

Our service providers act on our instructions and are required by contract to keep your information secure and to use it only for the services they provide to us.

06

International transfers

Velkor operates from China and the United States and serves customers worldwide. Your information may be stored and processed in those countries, in the country where you are located and in the countries where our service providers operate. Data-protection laws in these countries may differ from the laws in your own.

Where a transfer needs safeguards under the law that applies to you (for example, the EU or UK GDPR or China's Personal Information Protection Law), we use recognised mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authorities, together with technical and organisational security measures. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards at any time.

07

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and afterwards for as long as the law requires. In general:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, so we can pick up the conversation if you return.
  • Customer, order and partner records: for the length of our business relationship and afterwards for the period required by tax, accounting, warranty, product-liability and export-control rules.
  • Website server logs: normally deleted within 90 days unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
  • Google Analytics data: retained for up to 14 months in line with our analytics settings.
  • Marketing preferences: until you opt out. We keep a record of your opt-out so we can honour it.

When information is no longer needed we delete it or anonymise it so that it can no longer be linked to you.

We protect personal information with technical and organisational measures that include encryption of all traffic to the Site (HTTPS), a content-delivery network and firewall that filter malicious traffic, access controls so that only staff who need your information can see it, and regular software updates.
