AN INTERLOCKED CORE WITH AN OUTER JACKET

The interlock construction distinguishes this jacketed metal conduit from the unjacketed Greenfield and square-lock ranges. Normally, interlock design has better performance, it is stronger tha regular square lock design, but what it has to lose is flexibility. It is not as flexible as the square lock, and the bending radius is smaller than others. Its flexible form accommodates changes in route between fixed conduit and equipment. The conduit and connector must be selected together for the intended installation.

This range combines an interlocked metallic core with an outer jacket. By comparison, Greenfield flexible metal conduit and uncoated square-lock conduit expose the metal conduit surface, while PVC-coated square-lock conduit combines a different core construction with a covering. The choice involves both the core and the outer layer; a similar appearance or shared nominal size does not establish the same connector fit or environmental performance.
